All students for the five-year programme are required to take and pass General Studies (GST) courses before graduation. A student must accumulate at least 30 units per level to qualify for graduation. A student must take and pass a minimum of 15 and maximum of 24 credit units of courses in any given semester.A unit of course is defined as one contact hour of lecture/tutorial or seminar.A pre-requisite course is one which a student must take and pass before taking a particular course at a higher level.The elective courses could be from within or outside the department and/ or from within or outside the Faculty. Elective courses consist of a wide range of courses from which students must select a given number which they must pass before they can be awarded a degree. An Elective course may be taken by a student but could be substituted for another in the same category.A core course must be taken and passed by all students before they can be awarded a degree.Students can transfer into 200-Level courses provided they have the relevant qualifications. Holders of OND and HND at minimum of upper credit level are eligible for consideration for admission into 200 and 300 levels respectively. It is also desirable for candidates to pass Further Mathematics and Technical Drawing at credit level, such candidates shall have added advantage.įor Direct Entry, in addition to ‘O’ Level requirements, candidate must have passes in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at GCE ‘A’ level or equivalent. In addition to acceptable passes in UTME, the minimum academic requirement is credit level passes in at least five subjects at O’Level in nationally recognized examination including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and other acceptable science subject at not more than two sittings.
